Marcin Kwissa earned his MSc in biotechnology at the University of Life Sciences & Polish Academy of Sciences in Poznań, Poland and PhD in immunology at the University of Ulm, Germany. He conducted his postdoctoral research at Emory University’s Vaccine Center and Yerkes National Primate Research Center in Atlanta, Georgia. He is now a senior scientist in the Hubbell Laboratory.

His research focuses on understanding how the innate immune system regulates adaptive response to infection or vaccination. Specifically, he is interested in elucidating the mechanisms of pathogen-mediated activation of antigen presenting cells (APC) and their role in stimulating B cell response. His ultimate goal is to learn from host response to pathogens, or to established vaccines, and use this fundamental knowledge for developing better treatment strategies.
