After School Matters Internships

In collaboration with the Neighborhood Schools Programs, the IME hosts summer internships for high school students in the After School Matters Program.

IME Youth Lab Interns participate in STEM research at the college level as members of research teams, gaining significant insight into how STEM professionals work in an innovative and collaborative environment to solve some of society’s most pressing challenges. Based on the REU model, ASM Youth Lab Interns form part of a cohort of high-school interns that are involved in meaningful ways in ongoing research programs, and that will gain access to participate in authentic STEM research to create the necessary exposure and experience for competitive college applications.

IME Outreach Interns support the implementation of summer education and outreach programs at the IME and gain valuable insight, training, and experience of the role of outreach programming in a vibrant and innovative research environment.
