David Awschalom selected as 2015 Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researcher

Thomson Reuters recently named David Awschalom, Liew Family Professor in Molecular Engineering and Deputy Director for Space, Infrastructure, and Facilities, as a 2015 Highly Cited Researcher. David is one of about three-thousand researchers who received this notable and prestigious distinction, representing the top 1% of the most cited for their subject field and year of publication. 

To be named as a Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researcher requires one to write the greatest number of reports officially designated by Essential Science Indicators as Highly Cited Papers — this designation is truly an indication of exceptional impact in the research field.

Professor Awschalom is one of the world’s leading research scientists in spintronics and quantum information engineering. His research in spintronics involves understanding and controlling the spin of electrons for advanced computing, medical imaging, encryption, and other technologies.
