Postdoctoral Researcher (co-advised w/ Nealey)
May 1, 2017
Ban Dong’s research focuses on understanding fundamental ionic , electronic and thermal transport in functional polymers for various applications including energy storage and thermoelectric devices.
Ban received his bachelor degree in organic and polymeric materials from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2012. He received his Ph.D. in materials science and engineering in 2017 from the University of Michigan under the supervision of Professor Peter Green. His Ph.D. works focused on studying microstructure and charge carrier transport in semiconducting conjugated polymers. He joined Institute for Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago from May 1st as a postdoctoral researcher and currently works under the supervision of Professor Nealey and Professor Patel.
