Tirrell to address Senate and House congressional staff

Founding Institute for Molecular Engineering Director Matt Tirrell was in Washington, D.C., June 24, 2015, to brief Senate and House Congressional staff about the outlook of the future in the context of scientific research for "Science 2034: Live," part of The Science Coalition.

As one of the six chosen esteemed panelists for this event, Professor Tirrell's talk, "Nanoparticles keeping us healthy," revolved around the use of nanoparticles and its significant role in revolutionizing healthcare.

Established in 1994, the Science Coalition is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization of more than 50 of the nation’s leading public and private research universities. It is dedicated to sustaining the federal government’s investment in basic scientific research as a means to stimulate the economy, spur innovation and drive America’s global competitiveness. With some 60 major research universities as members, the Science Coalition tells the stories of what federally funded university research has made possible.
