Dear Colleagues,

We are extremely pleased to announce that, effective October 20, 2014, Rovana Popoff will join the Institute for Molecular Engineering (IME) as the associate executive director, reporting directly to Sharon Feng, the executive director. In her new assignment, Rovana will be working with the senior leadership team of IME in developing and implementing strategic initiatives including the establishment of IME’s governance structure and partnership as well as the development of various academic programs, in particular for undergraduates.

Rovana has a long and accomplished career in higher education management, starting from the position of academic advisor in the College at the University of Chicago in 2004. She then served as both the director of the Chicago Academic Achievement Program and the director of Scholarship Advising before she was recruited away to Dartmouth College where she served as the associate dean of the College. In 2009, Rovana returned to the University of Chicago and has since been working as the deputy dean of students in the Office of the Dean of Students in the College.

Please join us in welcoming Rovana to the IME family.
